Inter looking to snatch Flamini

Italian daily that Inter Milan are looking to sign AC Milan midfielder Mathieu Flamini.

New Inter boss Walter Mazzarri is keen to sign midfield reinforcements, with the French footballer reportedly on his hit-list.

Flamini s contract at San Siro is due to expire at the end of the current campaign and he has yet to sign a new deal with the Rossoneri.

Inter are hoping to take advantage of the situation and they are preparing a lucrative contract offer for the Frenchman.

Flamini arrived at San Siro on a free transfer from Arsenal in the summer of 2008, but his career at Milan has been plagued by numerous injuries.

He has, nevertheless, made a total of 96 Serie A appearances for the club, scoring 7 goals in the process.

Marcelo: Madrid not inferior to Barca after Clasico loss

Real Madrid s last-gasp Clasico defeat to Barcelona does not make the European champions inferior to their bitter rivals, insisted Marcelo as the full-back remained upbeat afterwards.

Madrid s lead atop LaLiga was erased as titleholders Barcelona stunned the hosts 3-2 in a thrilling top-of-the-table clash at the Santiago Bernabeu on Sunday.

Lionel Messi scored in the 92nd minute his second of the match to silence Madrid and their fans in the Spanish capital after substitute James Rodriguez had equalised seven minutes earlier following Sergio Ramos red card in the second half.

With the result, Barca and Madrid moved level on points, though the latter have a game in hand in their pursuit of a first LaLiga title since 2012 and Marcelo was in a positive mood post-mat…

Melbourne Victory 0 Adelaide United 1: Galloway own goal seals late defeat

A 90th-minute own goal saw Melbourne Victory s nine-game undefeated run against Adelaide United come to an end with a 1-0 loss at AAMI Park on Friday.

Bruce Kamau s last-gasp effort was diverted in by Scott Galloway, ending Adelaide s winless streak in all competitions against defending champions Victory that stretched back to 2011.

It looked like the visitors impressive record would resume as they came close to an opener seven minutes before the break, Gui Finkler rattling the crossbar with a 30-yard free-kick that had Eugene Galekovic beaten.

Victory failed to build upon that opportunity in a drab second half that included few chances, and, in a bid to change the outcome of the game, Adelaide coach Guillermo Amor sent Kamau on with 16 minutes remaini…

Rashford: Lukaku partnership could fire Man Utd to glory

Marcus Rashford has high hopes that he and Romelu Lukaku can fire Manchester United to glory this season.

Jose Mourinho guided United to third place in the Premier League last season, securing a return to the Champions League, but a title tilt fizzled out early in the campaign hampered by a struggle to break sides down at Old Trafford.

Their shot-shyness has been remedied somewhat by the £75million capture of Lukaku, who scored 25 goals last season a tally bettered only by Harry Kane in the league.

Rashford and Lukaku are yet to play in tandem for United, having taken turns to lead the line in either half of their pre-season friendlies so far, but the England striker is excited by the prospect of a potential partnership.

Prediction: Belgium vs Egypt

Verdict: Belgium/Belgium

Best Odds:

Bookmaker:

Following the goalless draw with Euro 2016 champions Portugal, Belgium face Egypt in their penultimate warm-up game, hoping to return to winning ways. The Pharaohs, on the other hand, arrive in Brussels on the back of stalemates against Kuwait and Colombia, deprived of star player Mohamed Salah.

Belgium

Everybody agrees that this is without a doubt the most talented generation in the history of the Belgian national football team, but they have so far failed to reach their full potential. Quarter-final appearances at the 2014 World Cup and Euro 2016 were not enough to satisfy the appetites of an expecting nation and the Red Devils will be under pressure to finally mount a serious title challenge when they …

West Ham United and Everton are set to take each other on at the London Stadium on Saturday afternoon in a game that will be a part of round 23 of the 2019/20 season in the Premier League.

West Ham

The Hammers recently parted ways with manager Manuel Pellegrini, with the Argentine tactician the latest in the ever-growing line of the managers who have so far failed to fulfill the expectations set by the club since their move from the Boleyn Ground to the London Stadium in 2016. As things stand with 22 matchdays gone, they are set to take part in a rather nasty relegation battle they sit 16th with 22 points to their name, just one more than Aston Villa who top the red zone at the moment. David Moyes, who also coached Everton before tha…

Coutinho takes Barcelona´s famous number seven shirt

Philippe Coutinho has taken Barcelona s prestigious number seven shirt for the 2018-19 LaLiga season.

Coutinho joined Barca in January, taking the number 14 vacated by Javier Mascherano, but has now switched to the more famous number seven jersey, last worn by Arda Turan.

The squad number has been worn by some of Barca s most illustrious stars, including Luis Figo, Henrik Larsson and David Villa, while Pedro donned it before Turan s arrival in 2015.

Coutinho settled in quickly at Camp Nou following his arrival from Liverpool, scoring eight goals as Barca cruised to the LaLiga title.

The 26-year-old playmaker also impressed for Brazil at the World Cup, netting two goals to help the Selecao reach the quarter-finals.

Ivory Coast 0-0 Egypt (aet, 4-5 pens): Bailly miss lets Salah seal progress

Eric Bailly missed from the spot as Egypt progressed to the quarter-finals of the Africa Cup of Nations by knocking out Ivory Coast on penalties.

The most frequently contested match in the tournament s history – this was the 11th time these sides have met – was decided when Mohamed Salah swept home to secure a 5-4 win in the shoot-out after 120 goalless minutes in Douala.

In a tight first 90 minutes of few chances, arguably the best fell to Amr El Soleya, who blasted over after being teed up in space by Salah.

Egypt goalkeeper Mohamed El Shenawy tipped over a Sebastien Haller header before keeping out a Wilfried Zaha effort, but he was replaced with two minutes of normal time left due to injury.

A bright start from Egypt to extra time saw El Soley…

Sacchi: Guardiola, Klopp and Pochettino are innovators of the Premier League´s ´golden age´

Arrigo Sacchi believes the Premier League is enjoying a golden age of coaching with Pep Guardiola, Jurgen Klopp and Mauricio Pochettino.

Former AC Milan boss Sacchi, who won the European Cup in 1989 and 1990 with the Rossoneri, is seen as one of football s great innovators, yet he is watching English football with great admiration for the top managers.

Guardiola has guided Manchester City to consecutive Premier League titles, winning a treble last season, while Klopp s Liverpool defeated Pochettino s Tottenham in the 2018-19 Champions League final.

Sacchi told the Daily Mail: [Guardiola, Klopp and Pochettino are] my favourites and all three have the same philosophical system, even though they are very different.

England has a crazy, brilliant championsh…

Croatia keeper Livakovic not on Bayern radar despite Neuer injury – Kahn

Bayern Munich will not make a move for Croatia goalkeeper Dominik Livakovic as a replacement for Manuel Neuer, says Oliver Kahn.

The Bundesliga champions are set to be without their first choice man between the posts after he suffered a leg injury on holiday following Germany s exit from Qatar 2022.

With Neuer out for the season, it remains to be seen whether Bayern will stick with Sven Ulreich as his understudy or look further afield.

Dinamo Zagreb keeper Livakovic has enjoyed an excellent World Cup with Croatia so far, and was the hero in their penalty shoot-out win over Brazil, but Kahn says they will not be looking at him as an option.

The man who stopped Brazil will always be a hero to me, Kahn said. Livakovic is worthy of praise. Such a goalkeeper…
